Need some help with setup!! Please!!!! I have a 520 ranger and I have a hds 12 touch at the console an I just bought a hds 10 gen 1 at a good deal. I had a elite 7 DSI up front so I bought the 10 thinking I would replace the elite 7 but after I have everthing I am reconsidering my setup. I bought a Ethernet cable to connect the two hds units. I also bought a point one earlier and was wondering how you guys would set all this up. Would you keep everything or just one or the other of the hds 10 gen 1 or elite 7???
Would the point 1 be better up front??
Really struggling with which to sell or keep both.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Depends if your going to us the DI ducer from the 7 on the 12"T. Or do you ever plan on putting a LSS box on the 10 or are you content with the SI/DI coming from the back of the boat? Lots of info left out.
I'd keep the 10" & 12", the 7" I'd sell. As far as he point 1 you will get more into on from your post over at BBC (more point 1 users there) but I read it doesn't like to be used by the trolling motor because of some kind of interference.

If you don't have the StructureScan box, then your somewhat limited in how you set everything up due to the lenght of your transducer cables. Install the 12T at the console, install the 10g1 at the bow. You can use the DI transducer on your TM. As for the Point1, you need to mount it away from interference. Several have issues with it being close to the trolling motor. I have mine mounted on the console and it works great.
One thing to consider.. The 2.1 update and the Point 1 are designed to work with Gen 2 units. Not saying you can't make the 10g1 work, but there's a couple of features that having 2 gen2 units such as "sharing" of a single navionics card across the network. I'm not sure about the point 1 and gen1 units. I know it will work, but not sure exactly what features you'll lose.
I have a HDS 8g2 at the console (w/LSS 2 box) and a 9T at the bow using a HDI transducer on the TM networked Ethernet to the LSS2. Point1 mounted at the console, using NMEA2K.. For reference.
Feel free to IM if you want to ask me specific questions. I installed all of it myself so I have some experience setting it all up.
