Should i put a leader on my braided line when fishing with a texas rigged soft plastic?? Or is tying the hook directly to the braid ok?

Flouro leader is the method of choice. You can take a magic marker and camoflage the braid though. F the braid is green, take a black marker to here and there to camouflage.

How is black more invisible than green? Especially in green stained water?

You don't mark the whole line black. As I said, you "camouflage" it by partially marking it just as you would do when painting a duck blind.

would you do that over tying on a leader?? Most of the waters i fish are stained but a couple are really clear.. would a leader be better for clear or would that black camo thing work too? Just never even heard of that.. how would you do it?? Black every couple inches?

I use a leader all the time, to me it comes through the timber a lot better than braid, braid seems to want to dig in to wood more than mono or fluoro.

I suspect over thinking going on here. They have big mouths and small brains. We are not trying to catch people.

I don't think the fish care about the line. They notice the bait.

Think of it like this. You see a good looking girl with a skimpy outfit on. Do you notice the skimpy outfit? No. You notice the bait. lol

I go braid straight to hook. I've been using power pro 40# for all applications and have success. Spinnerbaits, senko, flukes...ect...ect also. I use leaders for surf fishing. Only time I dont use braid is on cranking situations.

Yep so true. I usually use braid when I want a more enforced hook set, I'll put any bait on it without leaders and it'll work great.

Never thought of it that way.. so you dont think it would matter if i fished a t-rig or a shallow crankbait on my 65# braid set up??? Why do pros have like 10 poles with all different size lines if the line visability doesnt matter?
