Will be staying about 10 min from Bob Hall pier in a few weeks. Wanted to catch some bait fish with the kids (sabiki rig, bits of shrimp etc) would BH pier be a good spot at night under the lights for that?. Want to free line some small live and or fresh cut bait in the surf while we are relaxing. Also, we are staying in a condo on an access canal & the lady wanted to drop the crab net for a few one night. Would the canals be an option for that? Or even to throw a hook out? thanks.

bob hall will produce anything you want. If you just want to catch fish for the kids, drop some dead peeled shrimp on the bottom. If you are on a canal and there are lights, throw a spec rig and you should do fine. If you free line live piggies under the 2nd or 3rd light at BH, you should get into a mess of trout. Get there early because if the trout are there, everybody else will to.
