Disgusting, a display of absolute disrespect and thoughtlessness. The fishing karma will get him. Thank you for picking up this trashy person's garbage.

My pet peeve are the people who dump their left over live minnows on the bank. I know they are only bait and we put hooks through their bodys. It just seems cruel to deposit them on the bank.

I was fishing on my Barge on Belton lake. Some family 3 barges over was having a get together, they were listening to music, and singing a bit to loud, at least they had good taste in music, when I hear a splash, I look out to see a beer bottle floating in the lake, Ok so I figure, maybe someone didn't catch a beer tossed to them. Then 10 min goes by and another one. So you understand my frustration, I have spent hours/days with trash bags cleaning the shoreline of this lake when the water levels went down around this marina, at least 40-50 full garbage barrels of bottles and cans. THESE PEOPLE ARE LESS THAN 20 FEET FROM THE MARINA GARBAGE CANS located almost directly behind their barge. Also there is a Girlscout camp located directly accros the open water across from these barges. I go over there and tell them not to throw their bottles in the lake. I swim out and get the floating bottle and tell them I will put their bottles in the garbage can if they can't. A women in her 50's looks up and says they normally just sink them, and that they won't throw them anymore. At this point I start to get mad, another older gentleman sees that I'm getting mad, he appoligizes and states they won't throw them in anymore. This is 9-10 pm on a Saturday night. I wonder how many bottles/garbage they have thrown in through the years. Other than notifing the Marina, which so far changes managment quite often, what is the leagal approach? Believe me, I am one of the few that frown on this type of activity. Even though I know it is illegal, I can't see calling in a warden or Corps of engineers at 10 pm on a saturday night and what can they do after the fact. Remembering the old saying "Don't mess with Texas" any advise is appreaciated.

I can see doing that. I have called the warden on duty here at 1 am and they actually answered my call and responded.

They are public servants. Your taxes and license fees pay for them. It's okay to make them earn it.

Call the local police or sheriff and invite them over to watch.

It's a good thing you care. I always try and pick up some trash and dispose of it at the ramps/parks. So much of it however, it's tough to keep up.

Pretty hefty fine for trashing Texas.

And that same feller will be pizzed as hell when that ball of mono somehow makes it back in the water and manages to get wrapped around his prop shaft. Trashed lower unit, trashed trolling motor. You'd think they'd learn.
