I thought of this while posting in my last post. I thought it was pretty funny. I was out in my driveway practicing my pitching skills. I was standing in my driveway and pitching under my neighbors trees. My wife came out and was like I can't believe you re out here doing that, she said she is going inside because I'm embarrassing her. Well I just continued to hone my skills. I had my game face on and was very focused on hitting the exact spot. I heard some leaves ruffle in the trees above, I paused looked up and just shook it off, must have been the breeze. I continued to really work the area under the trees and as I was dragging my jig back thru the grass to my feet, a huge black bird swept down on top of my jig at my feet. My heart jumped up into my throat, I threw my arms up turning dropping my rod tripping over my sandal I jumped out of hitting the concrete scraping my elbow up and crawling into a run into the house. My wife was worried something bad had just happened until I caught my breath and was able to tell her while laying in the living room floor. Needless to say, a few witnesses got a kick out of it as we'll as some of my buddies.

How about fishing a tournament, you hear a big SPLASH ad you see your partner standing in waist deep water, It seems he hit the trolling motor pedal and it was turned hard left. I laughed the rest of the day.

I can imagine.
That's something you wish you could have caught on video I bet.

Kind of the same thing happened to me.. except i was practicing pitching in a long hallway in my house (was raining at the time) and my cat pounced on it... scared the [censored] out of me.. and lucky i was using a practice lure and not something with a hook cause i jumped and could have cost me a trip to the vet... lol.

I got one - kinda short but definitely funny:

The other day I spent about 8 hours out fishin in the hot sun from the afternoon all the way till shortly after sundown... I got home crispy fried (regardless of wearing spf30...) and was dehydrated and dead tired... Me and the wifey went to bed and I was out the minute my head hit the pillow.

After about an hour of hardcore sleep I was well into that deep REM dreaming stage. I was dreaming I was out there fishing still, with what was surely a personal best LMB just taking my topwater... Went to set the hook, and woke up to my wife screaming -- I had my wife's wrist in my hand and evidently thought it was a fishing pole... I had her little wrist death clenched and was ripping it to the side to set the hook...lol

She definitely had some choice words for that one...lol

I was practicing pitching in my pool and the wife came outside. She said something and went back in. Meanwhile the jig I had been pitching was on the bottom of the pool and got sucked into the sweeper while we were talking. She came back out just in time to see me trying to get it out of the bag. She had a good laugh and said "guess they're biting today".

Oh I've got a ton. Pretty much same as yours, except mine was throwing a pit boss in the yard right before dark after cleaning and adjusting a reel. An owl swooped down to grab it. Scared the living hell out of me. All I could do was yank and reel furiously to keep it away from dang thing. Next is on Houston County fishing a frog under some overhangs. Going along skipping it way back where you couldn't even see It and hear a splash and line goes tight. I set the hook and instantly tell my buddy I've got a giant. Tug of war for about 10 seconds before I notice my braid Goin up. Yes going up into the trees. Then I see it. A racoon with my frog in his paws. He kept climbing while we were freaking out and laughing, all the while I'm trying to stop him. After about 45 sec to a minute I guess, the coon just let go. To this day the craziest thing have ever dealt with on the water. And that includes having a giant pelican get tangled in a surf line at the beAch one day and having to reel him in and get it untangled

Once when I was fishing from a john-boat, a huge bullfrog attacked a Heddon Torpedo I had cast out onto the pond. He hooked himself through the right front foot. I felt sorry for him and was gingerly attempting to remove the hook until he pi_ _ed in my open tackle box. After that I was suddenly able to remove the treble hook in a jiffy and return the frog somewhat abruptly to the water. My fishing buddy Rob laughed so hard he nearly fell out of the boat.

Partner launched a long cast toward the bank w/ a trig only to be intercepted in mid-air by a large frog about 3 ft from the bank.

I used to fish for bullfrogs in California with a pink topwater rat. I don't know if they wanted to mate with it or eat it but we caught a ton of them.

The other day I was working my yellow magic about 50 yards from the boat. I was completely zoned out starring out into space then I hear a big splash I thought to myself theres the big girl until I looked up and white seagul looking bird was trying to eat my lure.....
