Good fishing, problem is you need to hire a security guard for your truck while you are out fishing.

I've been out there a couple times. The ramp sucks, got to back all the way the front, hope u have a 4x4, most of the lake is 3.5ft but there are some decent 2-4lb fish but wouldn't eat anything out of there. By the way watch out for the gators and get out before dark when the thugs come out. Happy fishing

Don't waste your time, and this is a serious response.

Someone is fixing to show up here and start posting about the 10lb bass they catch every time out. That's why there is nobody there. Best kept secret in Texas(ya, right). Seriously, if you want entertainment search old posts about the huge bass people catch out there. I've been on it...extremely shallow but you can catch a few with some good sandbass around the deepest water at the dam. All the negatives posted are true: shallow, contaminated, security issues, fair fishing...

you need to know where to fish. One guy in our club knows the lake I mean creek. You need to go in the creeks. A big boat will not make it. A jon boat will.. I have not fished it in years. I would rather go somewhere else. I grew up in that part of dallas and I left for a reason..

It's a good lake but, right now is five feet low. There is a brand new boat launch area just off of Ten Mile road, plenty of parking, lighted, nice launch. Only $10 which is by far cheaper than most on the lake. Right now, with hot weather, low water levels, etc. the fishing is slow. The lake has cat fish, white or sand bass, large mouth black bass, carp, etc. The water temperature is around 87 degrees now, which is warm. I am a member of the Fort Worth Anglers Club out of Azle and their annual membership is $45 for unlimited launching. Others vary up to $20 per launch. I'm not sure what others are talking about as far as security. The one new public ramp I spoke of is controlled access by paying with automated machine, it is not manned but there are plenty of cameras all over the place there. Up to you, as with every thing else in life, use your own judgement. I personally like the lake. Where ever you go, hope yours is a great trip and catch many! r/ Fred aka Lee in Texas I am a new fisherman, so you will hear others on here who are 'serious' and bad mouth the lake, but I've talked to many as I go there every time I go fishing, the majority I talk to like the lake and continue to fish it regularly. Now, having said that, it is NOT on the scale with Lake Fork but from your address it is much closer to Fort Worth, MUCH.

Yeah I don't think Mountain Creek has paid ramps. I've wondered about it myself for kayak fishing.
