I have two young boys 6&4 that I take fishing with me quite often. We usually target Sandies and Hybrids on Lewisville and do pretty good but they get tired of bouncing the slab off the bottom and want to go home within an hr or so. I know bluegills are easy to catch with jigs and worms if you can find them. I've never targeted them on Lewisville before and I'm pretty sure I can find them if I did some scouting, but though it would be easier to just find someone on here and swap trips. I can show you most of my way points and show you how to catch sandies and Hybrids, if your willing to do the same with your spots. Please pm me if interested. Thanks in advance.

Oh.. I have a 19 ft BayStealth CC so there is plenty of room if you want to bring your kids too.

If I lived up that way I would be more than glad to take you up on the offer. I have also never fished Lewisville. I can tell you this that I have been getting the Gills down here on Lake Dunlap in water 6 to 8 feet deep. They are starting to stage by docks and structure and are getting more active searching for food. Also fish under overhanging tree limbs. Sunken timber and sunken brush piles also are holding some nice fish. I use live night crawlers most of the time. One thing about a Bluegill it does not take long for them to bite if they are there. Good luck. fish

Side Note: Great to hear that you take your boys with you while fishing. Keep em fishing and you will never go wrong. cheers

Hey Ocean blue, I know it is kinda out of the way for you, but there was a couple spots on Lake Austin where there were real good sized bluegill hitting when we were out for bass... Aggressive lil suckers, they were swarming right when our lures hit the water and attacking em like piranhas...

Also, there are some big ol largemouths down there on Lake Austin too if you didn't wanna target bluegills exclusively
