Do you guys ever wear waders while bank fishing? Seems like they may come in handy in the winter and early spring/late fall, but what about in the summer? Just some shorts and old shoes or what?

Shorts and Teva water shoes when it is warm. Best fishing sandals I have found so far. Nearly fully enclosed and good traction definitely heaps better than the Crocs they replaced. In cold water I normally just wear high rubber boots.

Here's something to consider, especially if you night fish.....fire-ants have a real hard time crawling up rubber boots. As a rule they fall off about halfway up the boot. I discovered this by accident and tested this a time or two to confirm it. Now if you fish an area like a creek bank or the like with lots of fire-ants then rubber boots are the ticket. Especially handy at night when you never know what you might be standing in down on the river bank. I never get stung by ants when waring them ........never.

I'm in waders summer or winter...it gets hot as hell summer time...i just pull them halfway off to airdry, sit relax n watch my poles.

If u buy waders, best ones to get are witht he rubber boot included/attached as 1 peice. its ez just to slip on and off instead of putting on shoes

In summer I wear either ripstop pants or shorts. My ripstop pants are normally dry by the time I get to my truck. As far as shoes, not much better than my Keens!

I wear waders in the winter and i wear the same wading shoes just with the neoprene wading socks that you can buy for wet wading anytime outside temps are in the 70s.

Summer time I use basketball shorts and crocs. Cold months I use the one piece waders with boots.

Not trying to be snarky but, common sense and know your surroundings. Not much else you can do if you want to wade.
