When you wade or Kayak for Reds/Specs do you carry an extra spool with a different kind of fly line?

If I plan on fishing flats all day I just have my WFF line, when fishing mainly deeper water I just use sinking line. If I want some sink to my WFF line I just make my leader flouro to help it sink.
ORVIS Hydros IV reel, TFO TiCr X 8wt 9' 4 piece, RIO Redfish line

On the south half of the TX coast, you don't need anything but a floating line on the inside flats (LM, Matagorda, etc.). If you want to fish the jetties/passes/Gulf side beaches, then you should take a sinking line (not sink tip), generally an intermediate.
I've never fished the coast N of Port Lavaca, so I can't say.
