I've been bass fishing with my GoPro for about six months now, still haven't found the best settings. I have a GoPro Hero 3 Black, my dad and I are headed to Panama, to a place called Tropic Star to fish for black marlin, I would appreciate any suggestions on how to set up my GoPro. The more details the better...

put the GoPro on suction cup motor, buy a Contour HD wide angle on hat strap.

Here's some tips
For the best grip, attach your adhesive mounts to a clean, smooth surface, preferably in a room temperature environment.
Timelapses don't have to take all day. Using 20 minutes of photos in a 30 second clip can be just as powerful as 24 hours of photos
Don't forget extra batteries or a battery BacPac
Always clean the lens with a microfiber cloth
Prep your lens for watersports the same way you clean your googles, just lick the surface and rinse.
Use rain-x to prevent water from beading on the waterproof housings lens.
Camera tethers can provide some piece of mind in extreme situations.
The I-frame is the smallest and lighest way to mount your GoPro. When you donn't need waterproofing go with the frame.
Use 1440p or 960p to capture the largest overall viewing area, it improves your odds of getting a great shot.
Use the wifi remote to control camera.
Don't forget your anti-fog inserts.
Biggest challenge for anglers right now are mounting, power and heat. All of them can be managed effectively.
There's a new app coming in a couple of weeks that will allow you to do some amazing things with the camera without ever having to take the card out of it. Going to be cool.

I have a cheap tripod that I mount it to when I'm fishing (solo). I put it on the back deck and angle it to the side that I am fishing.
Camera settings (original hero), with the latest firmware updates, I just hit power and record. But this is mainly because I am too lazy to figure out what all the acronyms stand for in the settings.

i have a silver and i would say power wise get an external battery. As for setting ehhh i like just keeping it on 1080p can't tell if i can really tell the difference from 720 but. Protune mode is good for bright bright sun or at the end of the day with low light. don't forget you can do some altering with tint color ect with the cinema editor.
