Fished Somerville today with Dave and Frank of Austin. Pretty windy morning compared to recent trips, but cloud cover kept it not too hot. Expecting hotter temps this week, into the 100's. Lake is 4.9 foot low. Good morning for drifting.

Bite started out slow, with no fish at first spot, and few fish at the last spot. Frank had a good morning, catching some nice fish, up to 10#. They ended the morning with 24 cats for the cleaning table, four of them nice blues.

All fish caught tight lines, 5-12 foot water, on CJ's Shad punch bait.

I live over in Bryan, and fish at Somerville. Aren't some of the boat ramps closed right now, due to low water? Which are the best ones? I've heard Nails is closed, I'm pretty sure the ramp at Apache Hills is probably shallow.

Nails closed, Apache Closed, One ramp at Yegua closed, two of the four at Birch closed. That should be all that are closed until they start letting more water out, then things will start getting bad.

Still a bunch of fillets.Good job buddy.Do you have details on how much they are going to let out? Nikki said it could be a record low earlier this year.

Record low is what the Corp said, by August 31. I guess we will see what happens.

I had been going in at Big Creek, but that little channel keeps getting narrower. Conroe and Livingston are about twice as far, but I might give one of them a try this weekend, Livingston is only about 6 inches low.Conroe is down nearly 3 feet. I'm just not too familiar with either of those,
