I haven't fly fished in several years, usually just bass fish with conventional tackle. But last week I decided to put my old fly rod and poppers in my boat in case I decided to try it again. Well, after fishing for an hour with spinning gear and no bites, I starting fly fishing with a small popper and caught a few small river bass...really brought back fond memories of bream fishing the river with a fly rod. Very addicting fun!!

Good for you. I just love Blue Gill and bass on the fly, especially on Ultra light tackle, 3 weight and under, plenty of fish plenty of fun.

Next spring, get some clousers and/or other minnow imitations and get that fly rod going when the white bass are running.
