I know its still summer but my brother and our families want to try some crappie fishing at Livingston in the October/November time frame. We will stay 3 or 4 days. I have fished for crappie many times in the spring but never in the fall. Any advice on where to start, when to go, and tactics? Thanks for any advice.

The later you can wait the better it will be. Either fish Kickapoo or White Rock Creek. Usually catch the fish 8-10 feet deep just off the bottom. If you are using jigs it had better have chartreuse in it. But they also hit minnows.

Are they going from deep to shallow in the fall?

They are moving up the creeks following the shad. The depth is usually based on the temperature of the water. One year we caught them 2 ft deep in 15 fow on the opening day of deer season. Just have to try different things until you find them, either with your electronic or trial and error.
