Team Family Style just could not get the family schedule worked out so we could make the TSA tournament. I did get to run down to PK on Sunday and do a guide trip. PK fishing is good. The fish are moving around each week. We were catching them at the dam last week. We started in this area and caught a few here and there. We kept moving and found the fish stacked up next to the river channnel at South DD (Hog Bend area)
I guess the fishing report should read if you don't find were they were yesterday then look elsewhere. We find them almost every time but we are having to hunt them everyday. That's fine with me because the hunt is what I enjoy most.

Connor Wood is still deck handing for me. I sure am blessed to have him. When it came time to clean up and clean fish yesterday Connor grabs a knife and says "I got this dad" "You get the boat"

We fished Sat from about 10 to 3 never found them anywhere put in at south D&D to gains bend back to willow beach but enjoyed the trip lot of rec boat traffic

1. Does your boat still run after all this time? I would get that checked out.
2. Don't leave your Crawfish pot at the tree farm. Good Crawfish have been few and far between since you left!

Good report. Fishing at PK is the best I've seen in the last three years that I have fished the lake. The lake is chock full of 10-14" sandbass. The water at the marina just boils at night and there is top water action all day long. Not something I've seen in late July before. This time last year, fishing was tough.

Yea the fishing is great. I am not real good about taking pictures after the hunt. I am normally ready for a cold beer and a nap. Often I have another trip in 3-4 hours.Ill try this weekend to get some picks of piles of dead fish like the other guides do.
Acutually Ill try and get some pics of the quality fish with a referance in the back ground. That way every one can see the great fish we are catching. It's not 10lb Stripers like it used to be but it's still fun.
I still can't bring myself to take folks on a pure striper fishing trip and catch just 3-4 fish.

Randy, you would not believe it. My boat has been down at RC for the past two years. I had not seen it since October of 2011 until I went down there last week, drained out all the old gas, charged the batteries, and backed down the ramp at Oak Cove. The motor started right up and then ran like a top all day. Chuck and I caught a limit of sandies, no hybrids, but it sure felt good to get back on the water.

Thats great Capn Joe. The smartest thing you did was get the old gas out.
Puts some fuel treatment in and change the fuel filters in the near future.
I went from not being booked this weekend to two trips on Sat and one on Sunday.
