Love this unit but I cannot figure out how to save waypoints from the unit to an SD card. Saw a video where you transfer the data on the nav menu but I don't see that option under any menu. Also I cannot get it to save snapshots. When I save a waypoint it says failure to save snapshot and snapshot is turned on in the settings menu.

GPS data is saved in the unit's memory. The 598c HD SI units have the new waypoint management menu. To copy your unit's data to a memory card, first of all you have to have a regular SD card in the unit and not a mapping card (only have one card reader). That goes for recordings and snapshots too---no map card.
To copy the data, go to the Nav menu and then down to Waypoints, Routes, Tracks and right arrow on that with the 4-way button. Next go up to Options and right arrow. Down to Select All and ... then right arrow. Then down to Export and right arrow.
Your GPS data will be put in a folder named Matrix and Humminbird units and HumminbirdPC will recognize that folder.

Thank you!! After coughing up the cash for the unit a map card will have to wait so that's definitely not the issue ha

Did you format the card before putting it in the unit?
Is the card unlocked so you can write data to it?
edited: Additional thing, is the card a SanDisk brand? Those are the most trouble free in Humminbird units.

Couldn't ever find how to format the card. Have some SanDisk around the house but can't find them. Bought a cheapo 8G and is probably the root of the problem.
