Well I normally don't do this type of thing, but I was so impressed I had to do something.
Last time I was at Oak Ridge was around 10 yrs ago, ate breakfast there, I won't say it was bad, but that was the last time I set foot up in there till this weekend. We happened to be on that side of the lake so we stopped and decided to TRY IT one more time. We normally eat at Mosier's (sorry force of habit), along with half the people in North Texas. Now don't get me wrong That place is still great, but this is about Oak Ridge and boy they did not let us down, over a period of 2 days we had bacon cheeseburgers, club sandwiches, hamburger steak, fries, grilled chicken, chicken fried steak, salad bar, onion rings,(was to die for) and pecan cobbler with ice cream( I had to eat the rest of it with a knife in my left hand, everybody wanted some). We will be back, the food was great, service was great, everybody was nice, it was pleasure.

If you haven't been in a while you need to go check it out

Have spent more than my share on tackle in there lately. They can thank Caldemeyer for reintroducing me to their fine facility. I might not have gone back in there if for not meeting him there for my trip. Excellent place. C-YA soon!!!!

I love Oak Ridge food, great tackle selection including 100+ Dobyns in stock, rooms, and good ramp even with the lower water.

Oak Ridge is back to better than it was years ago like the 80s and 90s and it was great back then. From about 84 to 91 that was the only place we stayed and they had great food then. Now it is back to great food and a better stocked tackle shop and have heard the rooms are just as good as the rest.

Food at oakridge is really good. That's the only place I will eat on the lake for lunch or dinner. Breakfast I'm still having to go to the most overrated place on the lake, for lack of anything else.

I will put my .02 worth in here too. We all know this is east Texas and if you spend much time here you learn to adjust for the country service. Well last night we had a 60th birthday party for none other than Hard Workin Harold. There were 51 in our party and I will say not only was the food outstanding we had two lovely ladies waiting on us and their service was OUTSTANDING!! My hat off to Barry for having such a class act place. If you haven't stopped in there in a while you owe it to yourself to give it a try.

Just found out they serve breakfast also, I can now cross the other off. Good news.

My grandfather's best friend, LC Bridges built Oak Ridge and owned/operated it til the early 90's. He was a class act (just like my grandpa) and lived in the house just behind the marina. I haven't been in a while but I am glad to hear it has gotten better. Thanks for sharing your experience.

I agree me and my wife always try to go over there a couple times whenever we are there. It's nice to see how the people are livin' over on the east side. I like the dog too.
