I am on my 1st boat, and it is a Bass Cat. When I wear it out in 10-15 years, I know I can always find a used Ranger, guys are always selling after 3-4 years.

Bass Cat for me hands down been in a ton of Ranger they are nice sitting still but that's about it. I like how guys talk about us calling customer service its not that we call them all the time it's just we know they are there when you need them unlike other boat company's. would you not like to know you have the best service around when you need it? I have been running Bass Cat boats for 15 years and have not had a problem yet where I needed to call BCB. Just ride in both boats with skilled drivers then make up your mind.

I have been running Bass Cat boats for 15 years and have not had a problem yet where I needed to call BCB. Just ride in both boats with skilled drivers then make up your mind. I have owned my Ranger a year now. called teh factory 3 times to order accessories I wanted to add as well as get some general info about my boat. Spoke to a person every time, No crazy voicemail system or crazy issues at all. They were friendly, polite and got me what I needed fairly fast. have also been on a tour of the Ranger plant and tehy were top notch as well. treated me like I had just bought a top of the line brand new boat. My comment on customer service is more why are so many people having to call it. That is like the #1 thing you hear about BC is that but I would think not having to call unless its like I described is what we all want. Not bashing BC cause I have seen first hand the great rides they make and with a great delaer like Rockwall Marine I guess I don't get why so many say they call them so much.

No way a Cat or any other boat for that matter fishes like a Ranger, some may look better, some may handle the rough stuff better, some will run faster, doubt any will rival the resale of a Ranger, I run Triton and really like the overall package but it is not a Ranger.

I have run a Cat for a little over 2 years now and I fish as much or more than anyone I know,3-6 days a week. Rain or shine, hot or cold, windy or calm. So I have quite a bit of real world experience. I have also fished and drove a Z520 and a Z521 in up to 20 mph winds and both performed adequately. I run an Erya and the one big difference is my boat lands a lot softer in big water than either of the Rangers. A lot has to do with all the weight in my boat is behind the passenger seats. My only complaint is my cooler sucks in the summer. I actually bought a really good soft sided cooler I place in one of the compartments and that solved that issue, but I wish BCB would build a better cooler. As far as fishing platforms, I do agree Ranger is the best on the market, they have a huge deck and the track well in wind. My Cat is a great fishing platform and I very happy with the overall performance, both running and fishing. Mark I am a very proud Cat owner and I did not have to brag on their CS one time, LOL!! Like Rockie said, if you want to check out my boat and you are in the same area I would be happy to take you out sometime.

Doug I have seen your boat and its a damn fine ride. You don't have to brag on BC Cs as Rockwall takes damn good care of you and the boat. I loved fishing out of Petro's as well. Its not that I think they are a bad boat its just different strokes is all.

I didn't have a headache this morning until I read this post. Oh yes, BC is best for small front decks and Ranger works better for pulling skiers.....

I have a Pantera Classic. It hits hard. Not a great riding boat by any means. The other hull designs are different so they may be better. On Conroe, which gets washing machine rough, ride is a big deal. The Champion 181 I had before and my brothers Charger had such a better ride.
Its a well made boat. Should last a long time.Good customer.service.

Just about ready to pull the trigger on my next rig, I've owned 2 Rangers and a Nitro and this time I want something different. Right now I have "bug fever" if you know what I mean, but would consider all the other brands as well. One of my bucket list items is to own at least one of all the major brands of boats in my lifetime, Ranger, Nitro, Cat, Bug, Legend, Bullet, Phoenix, Blazer, Triton, etc. Info on the Cat would be a good thing......
