Spent some time in Foard County doing some brush work last week and came across these guys. There's a short video of a ticked off bull snake also. The yellow-bellied racer has to be the fastest snake I've ever seen. Yellow bellied racer Bull snake Dead rattler Bull snake video (turn volume up)

If you find another rattlesnake like the one in your photo dead on the road, please throw it in your freezer and send me a pm. It would need to be freshly killed. I would have some guys from A&M pick it up this fall. This rattlesnake is a massasauga. There is a genetic study being performed on this species and Foard County would be an important specimen. These aggies would drool on themselves to get one from out there.

Sure thing Pope. I wasn't sure what kind of rattler it was. It gave me no warning either. Going to have to google it now. I'll be back up there in a few weeks and will keep a look out

So they can chop it up and put it in jars . . . . . Leave snakes alone and they will leave you alone All snakes are instinct driven, coexistence with humans is not nor will ever be part of their simple lives. Why to people have to kill everything they do not understand ? If you find another rattlesnake like the one in your photo dead on the road, please throw it in your freezer and send me a pm. It would need to be freshly killed. I would have some guys from A&M pick it up this fall. This rattlesnake is a massasauga.
