Made a morning and an afternoon run today fishing shallow (10 to 15 fow) structures and caught 144: 127 whites to 16 inches, 14 keeper yellow bass, 2 cats and a hybrid.
In the morning I fished at Key Ranch and Merimac Point. In the afternoon brother-in-law Rick went out with me, and we caught them at Saint Annes Point East and Key Ranch.
All fish caught with #4 Mepps. Fish wanted it cranked medium fast today.

7/19/2013 Report:
We got a very heavy rain on the south end of CC from 11:55 AM until about 1 PM. After things calmed down brother-in-law Rick and I got out about 4:15 PM and fished til 7:35 PM catching 118: 76 whites to 16 inches, 27 keeper sized yellow bass, 12 cats, 2 hybrids and a drum.
We went straight to Greenhouse Ridge and caught most of the fish (including the 2 hybrids) there in 20 fow. After that slowed we went over to East Dam Hump and caught the rest in 13 to 18 fow. All fish caught on #4 Mepps.
I introduced Rick to the Mepps method in 1977, and he flat caught the fish yesterday and today.
There was a large plume of smoke toward Malakoff that went on for 3 or 4 hours. You can see it in the 2nd pic of Rick. Does anyone know what it was?
