How much tackle do you take for 2 1/2 days of fishing ? What baits work the best?

Deep water 3/4 oz jigs at rocks, timber and humps Pumpkin seed and your favorite color. Take at least 10 of each color.
Flipping lizards, flukes, sinkos five bags of each.
Cranks, storm swim baits and yellow magics.
Its been 5 years since my last trip but this should help.

Another tip make sure your suit case and carry bag has casters.
All hooks, plyers, tools, knifes go in checked bags its a pain trying to repack at the counter.

Here is my take (what I was told from owner that owns lodge and has been fishing there for decades) and these I know won't leave you fishless:

1) green pumpkin senkos with gold/purple fleck (see link attached and photo). Remember there are only bass and tilapia in that lake. When you hear commotion going on... its a bass feeding!! I would take at least 50 per person. I took a 100 but didnt use them all.

2) magnum sized flukes in watermelon red flake. Dont Bother taking the Regular sized flukes. Take about 8 bags. That's what I took and I ran out (between my son and I in 3 days). I had left a couple bags of magnum flukes in white and the guides would chartreuse the entire bait. They called it the electric chicken. It worked.

3) some rattle traps (about 4) that have some brown and resembles tilapia (see picture on link)

4) top water plugs. Popper and stick type baits.

5) swimbaits like money minnows or shadalicious in 5 inch along with 7 0 weighted swimbait hooks. 5 bags and take repair glue.

5) 1 big jar of chartreuse. The guides recommend to dip the flukes.

Although I didn't throw it I bet an a-rig will load up cause them fish are in schools when feeding on tilapia. I'd take one just for fun and put it on a spare rod.

Keep mono only on top water stuff. The rest I would have 20 lb seaguar invisx.

So four rods and a back up. 5 reels so one is a back up. Seriously that's all I would focus on. The above will catch you fish. We had three day fun tournaments for most fish and my son and I won the pot 3 days in a row on the above stuff. Fishing is very good so don't worry about being to specific.

Im going back in the fall. Good luck and have fun. Hope this helps.

Here is my trip:

My best bait there is a brown jig with a pumpkin green felct chigger craw.
For numbers, the solid chartreuse flukes. But I like to throw the pro green magnum flukes.
10" worms or lizzards that are black on top with blue bellies.

Whether you think you can or you can't, you are probably right.
