Only 4th time on water and 3rd time on pines in last 3 months. Previous outings felt totally off and we couldn't figure anything out. Today we did...finally!

Went out from daylight till 11:45am. Not huge numbers but some nice fish. Lake pretty off color and murky. About 4-6 inches visibility. Cool morning, actually chilled in shorts after the morning boat ride! Blue bird clear with a light southern breeze.

Boated 15 bass and one bowfin. Biggest fish went 7.2lbs. Smallest went 1.75lbs. Didn't weight the bowfin, but it was larger than the bass! Dad had a ~6 lb fish that he lost while trying to lift it into the boat!

All fish but one caught on single Colorado blade spinner. One on a watermelon red weightless fluke. Most were before 9:30am. Fished north of 155 above the marked boat run. Find the hydrilla...you'll scratch out some fish.

Awesome when you can pick them all up on a spinner

It definitely was not expected tlh. I would have expected weightless fluke, trick worm, senko, or some other small plastic...but nope...dad stumbled into the spinner bait bite. Very selective spinner bite though. Only the single Colorado in dark colors was working.

Well up beyond the marked boat run. But the key that day was hydrilla. There isn't much, but we worked what we found.

Thanks for the report

If I fished for money.........I'd be broke.

It sounds like they were feeding on bluegill considering the color and style of the spinnerbaits. People don't realize how many big bass stay shallow and hang out around those bluegill beds
