I did this video in 2010 thinking about making a bigger one, but never went past this test video and I know some here have seen this before, but some have not and I was thinking some may want to see a jig tied on a Nor-Vise. It has a lot more features than I show here, but at least you can see how much it help just doing your thread base. It only takes just a tad over 1 minute to view it.

Hope you enjoy this.

Thanks guys. The blue handle scissors are Anvil Brand. Very nice Scissors, but I also use some Dr. Slicks Razor Scissors and both are not cheap.

When you find scissors that fit your hands and are good ones you don't worry about the cost right? smile

That is correct sir, I really like both the Anvil and the Dr. Slicks Razor scissors. Both are extremely sharp and I do not use these on hair. I do ues them for everything else. I did buy them wholesale though.

Actually have 3 different pair of Anvil scissors, the ones you see here and the curved ones the same size and one pair of what they call Ultimate I think. They are a little heavier type and I may end up using them on hair when the ones I use now go dull.

Skip, I was about to buy a second pair from CA when I ran across this pair of Fiskar's at WallyWorld.

Curved cutter's and @ only $5 and they're dandies!

I have heard they are pretty good scissors and look like something I may want for cutting hair. Nice find Pepop!
Later I will get back in my tying room and get a pic of my scissors to show them.

Thanks AggieKenny, once you add anything else though it slows down, plus taking out amd putting back or just changing materials sure takes time up.

Amazingly fast, nice neat tie thumb

On your other video you show cutting
hackle V's. What's those?

Not trying to answer for Skip, but, "V's" are used to give you the little wisps in the tail without the quill in there. Kind of like hair. At least that's how I'd use them.

Thanks,
I've seen them used fly tying nymph. Didn't know how applied to crappie jigs.

Yes the V's are to make it kind of look hairy or bush where the tail come out of the chenille. I didn't ever like the way guys tied the tails using 2 tips so I came up with this and I also think the one tip makes you jig have better action.

I have been tying like this for about 9 years now +-.
