the Caney City Public Boat Ramp or Log Cabin. We had a report Saturday from a gentleman that he lost a tire at the Caney City boat ramp from a hole. So, you be very careful or launch at Log Cabin. Log Cabin directions: turn east on 5180 by Kamman's Exxon off HWY. 198, turn right into Log Cabin & follow the signs.

Correct ! ! ! !

The left side (Backing Down Ramp) of the Caney Boat Ramp is the worst side. The end of the cement drops off, and will drop your trailer tires off and down on the hackles of a trailer and you are done. My Brother and I have helped 3-4 guys out in the past 2-3 weeks. If you drop off and get hung, HOPE there is 2 of ya. One has to wade out to back of trailer and lift and hope it is not one of the big heavy trailers , while other guy pulls the truck up. It is a major drop.

Just as we were coming in, a guy in a F-350 4X4 ripped the axles off his trailer, banging it against the cement edge. Don't do this, it will tear up trailer before it comes out. Its the hackles that it is hitting against, and tires are not getting to the cement.

The right side is still useable, but is getting REAL shallow to get to deep water. Pontoon Barges have to long of trailers to use the ramp. It is still useable if you are experienced at this ramp, but new guys I would say pay the $5 at Log Cabin. It is good to go.

I haven't fished the bridges much, but I would suggest early morning or at night in 10-15 ft of water. We are catching most of our crappie on brush in 10-20 ft of water, and also on standing timber. 7am-11am seems to be the best bite for us. Our fish are coming off of a White Hot Thump Buddy tipped with a crappie nibble, or a minnow. Both are being held very still.
