Buffalo Springs in Lubbock, not much of a lake to begin with, boasts "Striped Bass" and on TPWD it actually shows it as having been stocked, but not when. Does anyone know the facts? I would believe hybrids. Why would they stock a fish that needs so much open water in a lake like Buffalo Springs?

They used to grow big there. I found this one hanging in a bar in Rockport of all places. This is the lady that caught it. If I remember her story right it was caught in the eighties. 35+ lbs.

Thanks, I just found it hard to believe they would stock pure stripers in such a small lake, in a dry country.

Wow. Thanks, I had no idea. I had a hard time believing they would have ever stocked pure stripers in such a small lake where there is so little water, a lake that is known to locals as a sewer lake.
