I have a hydro wave and i have it wired to power up front going to my trolling motor and it has been drawing down my power on my trolling motor batteries alot.I am going to run separate power and ground wire to another battery just for my hydro wave and see if that helps. Please let me know if anyone else has had this problem.I would like to know if the hydro wave draws that much power. And i have had my batteries check one is new and other is one year old. They are at 12 volts when charged thank you for any help!!!!

That doesnt happen to mine. Also, if your batteries are 12V when charged you may have a problem. It should be more like 13.2V when charged.

I can't imagine a Hydrowave pulling down your batteries. I've used a portable one with a 9 volt transistor battery all day long. The one on my boat stays on all day and I have never noticed a difference in my trolling batteries.
Coincidence is His way of remaining anonymous.

I had one that drained and ruined a good battery. I have been told by others that I was the victim of a parasitic drain. The unit was hardwired straight to the battery. With the cables hooked up and the switch turned off you could observe the power cord arcing when you removed it from the battery positive terminal. Gene treated me right and covered it under warranty with one that was supposed to be designed to eliminate this issue. It does the same thing. Now I put the cords into the unit when I get on the water and unplug them when I get off the water. I have not had any other problems.

I don't put anything on my trolling bats but my oxygenators. My hydrowave will pull constantly if hooked up. If you listen to the speaker, it will click when you plug in the power wire meaning there is always power going to it.

I have a off and on toggle switch just for the hydro wave up front wired into the power going to the trolling motor. And I can tell that I have not as much power in the trolling motor after about a half a day of fishing. I am wanting to know if it could be my trolling motor or my hydro wave pulling to much power out the batteries. Does anyone have a phone number to someone at hydro wave i can talk to? If so pm me. Thanks for all the help!!!
