It's a skink. Funny how they can throw off their tail to distract you and grow another one back.

Ive never seen one before. The tiny thing was jet black and in the right light his tail was almost a neon purple and had little white spots on its face. There were about six of them in the back yard.

It was a blue tailed skink till you broke his tail off,
