Och someone had a bad night or morning didnt they scared

No, had a good sleep and great morning. How would you like it if I paddled up to you while fishing and started blaring music that you hate? Not very much I suspect. What one may think is awesome may turn another's stomach. DC the speakers and wear head phones and there's no problem.

Well first off. I don't listen to music very loud at all. The main reason I decided to go with something more powerful is so that it is a multipurpose stereo system. I work in the oil field and it will be nice to have a loud waterproof stereo in some situations. Also it will be great for the beach or as an outside stereo. In any case, I am out in the bays / bayous with no one near me, and I don't usually listen to music loud while fishing anyway, it scares the fish lol.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

No offense taken Ken, lots of kayak fishermen are like you (and I) seeking a little solitude and to keep the peace. My suggestion of head phones does just that.

However, it ends up killing my phone after a couple hours and I would rather not be without my phone for safety reasons. So I am wondering about ideas for a true stereo, something like a motorcycle radio setup, maybe? I am not sure if those are water proof or can handle the salt though. Also I am assuming it would need to be mounted to a waterproof box or something to mount the speakers without making very large holes in your kayak.

I sure don't see anything in the title or content of this post or any responses that you are building it for the oil fields or beach. I guess I have to read between the lines to get that...thus my comment.

It's all good. The original idea was just to make something small for the yak. But you know how ideas evolve lol. Basically it went from yak stereo to all around portable waterproof stereo. At this point it might end up being too big to be feasible to carry in the yak LOL. I am big time on the DIY stuff so it will be a fun project with many other uses. Really I just need to find a 100% waterproof power connector for easy charging. The other option is just that I have to open the case to charger it. I think I will going with a cooler though, due to the fact that decent size waterproof cases are expensive. Those cheap dry boxes don't seem to make a good enough seal.

If it ain't broke, fix it till it is.

There's this from Costco... Basically a drybox with a built in speaker and amp.
