Well the weather forecast couldn't have been more grim when we sacked out last night but we lucked out all day. Got up ad were on the water at 5:45 am. Baited up with live shrimp and croaker and headed to Big Pasture bayou. We found decent colored water flowing into the drains and inlets and set up just inside.

First cast from the boat, bam! 20" spec, shrimp under popper. The bite was steady for about and hour. We boated 6 keeper specs and not quite a dozen young'ens. I saw little finger mullet jumping near the grasses edge in a shallow muddy shelf so I rigged up for flat fish. Managed to catch three, 1 keeper at 19".

Winds were out if the south/south east all day. The tide went slack before noon so we went in for a bite to eat. We talked to a couple of groups that went out to the north jetty. Word is that the reds out there are hungry for cut mullet.

We went to the ramp to catch the evening tide but the wind was gusting 20+ so we decided to stay dry dock. Overall a decent day.

If im fishing BPB I'll typically put in at the Stingaree Bait camp/ Marina...Its just a quick run through the cut and east to the bayou. I like Bolivar Yatch basin but their shrimper had a mishap with the net and they were down on bait for a few days.
