Dark, cloudy, cool temp's and rain....in July. Got to love it. Wish I was under a bridge with a jig in the water.

that would make a great painting Larry, !! Afew mayflies on the pilings, some birds swooping for bugs out of their little mud nests under the bridge, some large shad eating at the algea on the sunny side. I can smell the water my friend! ha

COMING SOON! .. THE STICKLE HOOK " the stay level sickle hook". sits level in the water with all knots.! Provides better hook sets and more natural jigging motion. No more adjusting the knot, gluing , or tying loop knots that cause the hook point to tangle in the loop, or worse knick the line.. The jighook that will make all others obsolete !

If I hadn't knocked a hole in my boat, I would be under the 3002 bridge right now up at roberts...

descisions.. descisions .. should we start on the deeper pilings and work shallow or vice versa. Double threat, or just go for the gusto and tie on 3 different jigs. Think I will break out the 9 foot wally marshall signature series, love the green metalflake, and think back to the many good slabs that its been responsible for yanking over the gunwales. I think I will position the boat so I can straddle the side of the double column, and dip all sides of both sets of pilings. Then maybe lob the jig out, and let it pendulum swing past the crossmember.
OOPS forgot the shad spray and crappie nibbles, ohh well, first I will try without them and see what happens because I simply cant wait any longer to get the jigs in the water. Ok now fishing, but little voice keeps saying " you know those crappie nibble can make all the difference".. I go to the back of the boat and dig them out of the crappie assault pack, the white ones are the strongest, I recall being told, by a guy whos reasoning was they weren't diluted with color, so the white ones are better. Now were fishing, and the mind games with myself begin to play out. Should we fish the piling with the X on it, ? the X is there for a good reason im sure. BUT, everyone else can see the X, so maybe its been fished hard today or yesterday. HMMM, I think I felt a bite, but not sure, maybe stay a little longer, and try to get a solid bite. Then look down the long row of pilings, thinking, way too many pilings to stay at this one much longer, I could be missing out big time, and the next one down could have lots of active fish. ,, pure joy and bliss!!
