I have fished the upper area of spillway creek near the dam, "cardiac hill", and the lower areas across from cold hole. How is the fishing in the areas in between if you hike along the creek? Is it better to hike in from the lower or upper creek area?

This time of year the fish are being yanked out quick. Best spots to fish are where ever you see truck tires and the easiest spot to get to the water near the tire tracks. There will be fish downstream from main stocking holes, but not many. The bait chunkers get those too. Takes less than 20-30 mins to hike from the rd to the spillway, if you know the shortcuts.

I agree with Carey. I fished there this past weekend. There are decent numbers of fish in Evening Hole. Many of them are taking dry flies & hopper patterns. More are taking size 22 midges.

Just be patient with the fish AND the fools that don't know stream etiquitte.

Oh, and carry a big trash bag. There is plenty of trash to pick up!
