Think I will try this but nuke the bacon for a few minutes first to cut out some of the fat. I see too much of my cardiologist as it is.

Yes it is a very tasty dish
There is one for that combo where a pie crust "top"
is made from weaving those two in a tight lattice
and topping a bacon apple pie that is most excellent
