So i went this morning at 5 without checking the weather. Got there around 6:15, it was pouring. So i waited it out or so i thought. It cleared off for a minute so i put the tube in and started catching fish right away. Not 5 minutes after being in the water it started pouring again. The fishing really picked up then. I fished in the rain for about 2 hours and caught probably 40 fish with the biggest being around 6lb with a few 3 and 4s mixes in. Every fish was caught on a yamamoto senko in black/blue. The rain was making me cold but the warm wind kept me warm for the most part. I did learn that i need to get a waterproof camera so i can do a proper write up with pics. Id say fishing in the rain is my new favorite time to fish. I caught them all in about a 40ydx20yd box along the grass lines on both banks just before the timber starts. My best day of fishing ever!!

I drove out there this morning just for a ride. I am so glad to see the rain. Am anxiously awaiting to get back on Clear lake to make up for my first trip out there.

Sounds like a good trip! My most successful trips, quantity wise, have been in the rain. Also, senkos just rock on clear lake! love fluttering them down the creek channel that runs through that lake. The lake has some good sized redears in it too! fun fighting fish on ultralight!

Several inches of rain later and I am ready to head to Clear Lake on Friday morning. Going to take the pontoon boat and the new wader. While I am out in one of them My sisters are going to try their luck on the bank. Cant get either one of them on the water. LOL. Guess that's what getting older, oops better will do to you.
