Today I had the privilege to guide three soldiers from Fort Hood, Jarrod, Matt and Wes, on a Hybrid Striped Bass trip. The day began slow with the only bite by 8am was a 16" Blue Cat. We moved in shallower and found the fish that would bite, we were sitting in 25 to 30 foot deep fishing suspended at 20 foot down. These fish held up for a couple of hours on a very slowwwww bite. By 1030 am they had boated 5 throw back Hybrids 6 Keeper Hybrids and a dozen or so missed or came unbuttoned fish. We then moved around and checked a lot of areas, we finally marked suspended fish 20 foot down over 40 to 50 foot water, they boated a couple more keepers and another few throw back size when we called it a day. Here is Matt with his new personal best size fish, 19 1/2" Hybrid Striped Bass. Below is the group holding up a few of the keepers they boated today. I did meet up with Brian from CrossWaters guide Service. He was fishing the same slow pattern 20 foot down suspended fish in 40+ foot of water. I observed him catch their limit fish around noon. Brian runs a great Guide Fishing service working with the Wounded Warriors from Fort Hood.

It is a pleasure to bring joy to these young brave men. I give a $25 dollar discount to all active duty and veterans on my guide service, just my way to say "thank you"
