Have a couple of large tree trunks that show during low water but lurk just below the surface when the water is up a bit. Any ideas on the best way to attach a buoy or marker of some sort. A Good Samaritan has marked two of them. Not sure what he used ( metal spike of some sort) but has a long piece of PVC pipe sticking up from the middle of the trunk. The third is still just below the surface, a lower unit killer for sure. Any suggestions would be appreciated

Do not drive metal into the stump it WILL break or rust off and leave a jagged can opener for some one to ripvthere hull open on gps is the best fiberglass pole driveway reflectors work and arnt to expenzive

Good advice on the "no metal". How would you attach the driveway marker pole? These are very dense stumps?

Maybe a large plastic tent stake that you could drive into the middle of the stunp, then tie a piece of plastic rope to a jug to mark it.

My uncle has a lake house on cedar creek and had one stump by hid dock that we marked with white PVC pipe and some reflective tape. The very top will still show when the lake is at full pool. We used some xtra xtra large zip ties and 8" long stainless lag bolts to attach it to the stump with.

Chordless drill with a bit extension drill bit just under the dia of the fiberglass rod diameter drill and then a few taps and yoir good to go

Actually the drill bit idea worked great. Was only able to bore about 4.5 inches before it stopped. That is one HARD wood tree! Reflective marker is in place. Thanks for the suggestions!
