I did pretty well fishing at Sand Springs Bend throwing a Zoom junebug lizard Friday. Fished the main islands at first and did not pick up anything. Further North I went the better! All small spotted Kentucky's but still fun!

Head up river and fish main lake points or main river points. Try mojo rig, shakeyheads and yellow magics early. Try points in bee, otter, and bull creeks. Keep your eyes peeled for schooling fish.

yesterdays fishing report.
Broken Bow: July 15. Elevation rising, water upper 70s. Bass good on spook lures, Carolina-rigged soft plastic baits in watermelon seed and pumpkin around deep points and rock walls and on big white crankbaits around ridges in the upper end of the river and around main lake points. Catfish good on juglines and trotlines baited with cut bait and sunfish. Crappie good on small grubs in white, chartreuse and orange at 15-25 ft around brush piles. Report submitted by Dru Polk, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.

the river below
Lower Mountain Fork: July 14. Crayfish and minnow patterns (size 10-12) and Light Cahills (size 16) have been working well in Zone I. Zones II and III have experienced high water from generation periodically during the day. But when the water isn't too high to fish in Zone II, try streamers and midges. In Zone III we also caught fish on the Light Cahills. Otherwise, there isn't a particular hatch that is strong at this point. Report submitted by Mark Hannah, game warden stationed in McCurtain County.
