Before today's report, I thought I'd share briefly what I captured. Got up at 4;00am (incase Pepop asked if I ever sleep...hehhehe) yesterday. Left the house at 5;00 w Gerald heading to Twkn. What a beautiful morning it was.

Ran into a sand bar in which I had to get out of the boat into the water to manually and slowly pushed out. Wind was strong out of the SW which drifted us in 1fow. By the time we escaped and got to the slab zone, it was way too windy to fish w 3' waves. Left to search for calmer and workable spots... Bad start and slow bites in new territory caused frustration. By the way, the only one ramp left at the two miles bridge is officially closed!!!
Didn't really find the fish til about 10:00am.
Finally when the wind was calm, we headed back to where it was too windy to fish earlier. But the fish were scattered and far in between. Only landed 5 there before we quit with 37 bigguns in the livewell for Gerald to clean. (Sorry no pix of fish on this trip, and only managed 3 black among the 37)
Usual hot jig as of late for this summer is the Lime Slime Slabmesilly premiere jig (white/lime/white). Fished from 14'-17' water temp was 86.8 degree. Most fished hit at 1' off of bottom.
My best friend asked me when I got home at 3:00pm why I didn't wake him up to go fishing. Hmmmm... How about daddy promised to wake you up at 6:00am tomorrow heading to Mc Donald's and to LA until it gets hot? A smile of forgiven appeared!!!!
We did just that this morning. Launched at The Polywebb ramp instead of Arkansas Ln.
Depth: 17-20fow
Jig: slabmesilly premiere Lime Slime and True Blue
Number of fish: too many dinks mixed in...plenty of keepers, but didn't count. Kept only about 15 for dinner tonight.
Water temp: 86.4
Magic thumping depth: 3' off of bottom
Duration: 7:30am (due to Mc D's breakfast for the little guy) to 11:15am
Here is one determine child:

Fish on on the other end of the line as he was trying to lift it over the boat:

The guy was so into it that he forgot to wear his hat. I threatened to take him home; he abided. The hat was on and sunscreen applied...I told him he can't catch bigguns without the hat.
Show off!

Even a bigger one!

And another...(sorry for over exposure)

Ps::: ran into Dutch n Hogon yesterday. Nice to have ran into you guys....
