I started with one on the left side but ended up with one on each side I am right handed but seemed like always needed the one on the opposite side due to wind or current

I have them on both sides but use the one on the right 90% of the time. I am right handed and fish to the left and away from the anchor rode.
The exception is when I am working crappie in the tree tops using a pvc "stand-off" pole. then I hook it to side I am facing and fishing on to make minor adjustments as the wind jacks with me as it always does. If I am working a brush pile in open water I have dropped two anchors some distance apart and tied to both sides to hold at an exact location.
But mostly I tie on the right and fish to the left.

I put mine on the left, opposite my strong arm for casting/hooksetting reasons. I'm set up on both sides, one on the front and one on the back. I tried one long one per side but I like two smaller ones better. Can anyone explain why they like two anchor trollies on the same side? Just seems like you'd have to clip/unclip more to move things between the two. What advantage does it give over one that runs the length of the boat? Just curious.

I want two trollies on my right side. The reason is I drift fish mostly. I can drift with a bag at each end of the yak and still have a large fish landing area. Two drift bags hooked to the same ring will tangle. This way they don't. Also I can use a two anchor system while anchored eliminating boat sway...keep my lines tight.

On the Raptor my planes are to set it up with the two trolley setup on one side. What the two trolley set up allow you to do is run two anchors, one in front and one in back to make your stack out solid. Yes it does make it to where you have to unhook to move to the other. But most likely when you make the decision to anchor you have a pretty good idea if you want it in the front or back. It really serves as two purposes. One the double hook up and two it eliminates the slack you get when running the lines from bow to stern, especially on a 14 footer or longer. The way you set it up, you have two pulleys within reach on the side of the kayak that separate the front from the back. The front setup will always be longer of course because of the location where you set. IMO the benefit of doing the two trolleys set up is for fishing crappie and catfish.

...or sturgen, or any fishing that requires stealth when anchored.

Several yaks later I'm still running one on each side, but if I could do only side it would be on the right side. I'm right handed mostly and it feels more natural to pull the line and hook and unhook anchors, socks, brush grabbers, pole anchors, and such. Most of my casting is on the left side and I usually like to lip or grab the fish with my left hand, but the fish mostly decide that on some days LOL! I prefer one one each side. On my Cuda I'm running half on the right from middle to front, and the left side is a full trolly from rear to front. If I'm keeping fish, I'm using both sides at the same time. Fishing in the creeks and rivers having one on each side is very handy with brush grabbers, never know which side of the creek the fish are on. Using the trolly for the stringer works great and keeps fish from twisting the line up, great while paddling too, they stay all lined up beside the yak creating a little less drag. Ok forgive my ignorance (though y'all are probably used to it by now) but how the heck do you get your anchor trolley through the fish's gills?! Can you untie yours real easy or something?
That's awesome but I'm so confused... I'm sure I'm missing something obvious haha.
Thanks for the info about double trolleys guys, makes sense. I think I'll stick with one length-wise, but I think I will add a second one on the right side of the boat.

I am right handed. I have mine on the left side specificly because when anchored off the side of the boat (only when there is no current and little wind) i can dangle my legs over the side and throw with my hand at the front of the boat, leaving my backcast free from the rear of the boat with rods in rod holders and 360 lighting. When anchored at the front. It slightly angles the rear of the boat to the left, again leaving room for a clutter free backcast. I have never anchored from the rear of the boat but my trolley does run the lentgh of the boat (makes anchoring ing the off the side of the boat more managable. Just what fits me. I'm sure others who have been at this longer than me might have differing opinions.

I went to a two per side trolley when I got my 16' and liked it so much I changed my 12' to a two per side, it's just so flexible, however if it doesn't matter I always anchor on the right side.
