Had a conversation with a good fishing buddy today about setting up a trolley system on a kayak and where it would makes most since.

I’m talking about one side setup only.

1. What’s your preference and why please.
2. Right hand cast, should trolley be on your right?
3. Left hand cast, should trolley be on left?
4. Opposite cast to trolley side?
5. Would you prefer two trolley setup or one trolley setup on one side? And why please.

When I have mine on, it's two on the right side, one to the front and another to the back.

I prefer mine on the right side running from bow to stern. My graph is on a Ram mount on the left so that's why I like it on the right. I keep saying I'm going to add one to the other side but I have yet to do it.

I read your post but have one on either side. No figuring which is best when they are on both sides wink

BTW, congrats on your new deal!

The KC will have them on both sides. I cant tell you how many times I needed it on the opposite side! Just finished one side and will do the other tomorrow.

I'm set up on both sides, one on the front and one on the back. I tried one long one per side but I like two smaller ones better.

Like the trolley setup....but did you use rivets or screws on the pulleys? The only ones I've found so far wouldn't take any rivet gun I could lay my hands on. Like the "white", too. Wished I'd waited.....

Well nuts for the pulleys and rivets for the padeyes. Well nuts are about the best option with no access to the inside of the hull.

Like your setup Joe. You use the pad eyes like I do to get the trolley to stay more to the curve of your kayak. That was going to be my next question if those that use a trolley system prefer that stlyle.

I'm right handed and have mine on the left side. One reason is that I'll side arm cast out the right side of the kayak often . Another is I get in the right side of the kayak so I mount everything on the left.

Joe, great setup. I was wondering how to get a clean install the way the KC is shaped. This is exactly what I was looking for. THANKS!

If you need anymore pics of the way I set mine up let me know. Its all documented. Be sure to use the correct size drill bits for the wellnuts. Super Important!

I’m talking about one side setup only.

1. What’s your preference and why please. ---Left Side
2. Right hand cast, should trolley be on your right? ---I cast from both sides and overhand. I'm crazy like that.

5. Would you prefer two trolley setup or one trolley setup on one side? And why please.---I've thought and planned on doing two but I may wait. I use a Park N Pole quite a bit and sometimes I am in a shallow flat. I set the hook hard over my right shoulder and want fewer obstructions. Trolley on the left for now.

This is me too. I'm right handed so I want my right side clear to cast. So FF is on the left with a swing arm. I too would like to add a short one on the left side. IMO you're better off with one on each side if possible.
