I don't know what's wrong with me but my system shuts down on camping trips. Always been that way. Three days no problem, I can wait. Anyone else like that? Now on the 4th day, watch out, its time to swing by a bus station or some other public place I'll never be seen again. I definitely slow down on trips but I don't hold it 3 days. That's not healthy. You must not drink coffee in the AM. No coffee but lots of soda pop. I wouldn't even call it holding it, just doesn't cross my mind. My curiosity got the best of me and I had to check. Lots of folks asking is 3 days, 4 days, 5 days bad...I skipped over those lightweights and checked on how long before you die without going. http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_long_can_you_live_without_having_a_bowel_movementB Rod is my hero until someone beats his record.

On weekdays I go promptly at 7:15AM every morning, and about 50% of the time just after lunch. On weekends however I almost never go unless I ate some thing that did not agree with me lol. I think it is just a mind set more than anything, complete bodily control. But, you better not get in my way on Monday morning.

I really never thought I would learn so much about so many fellow fishermen / yakkers' poo-age and the bodily cycles involved therein. Great thread!!
Personally I have no problem going in the woods. Just have to watch out for the sand eels. Their cold kiss will send shivers down...er, I mean up...your spine.

I try to drop a deuce in the most ridiculous places on trips. On walking paths, in the middle of fire pits, in front of people's tents. Ect.

I think I have to refer back to Jason's comment This might be the weirdest , most pointless kayak post ever. LOL
This might be the weirdest, most pointless post ever. I am not against golf, since I cannot but suspect it keeps armies of the unworthy from discovering fishing

I'm a daily pooper.(since we're all sharing lol!) The wife and I just got back from camping on the brazos and yes I took my trusty dump-a-crate. I really wish some would just do a little research. #1. your not just using a plastic bag. There is a powder already in the bag that when you add a little water it gels. when your done you close the bag and seal it in another bag that comes with the kit.#2 your not carrying a stinkbomb around with you. The gel keeps the smell contained. I'm not saying you want to leave it in the back of the truck an extra week but smell is not a problem if you use the wag bag right.#3. human poop is not the same as wild animal poop. Like I said before its just a choice I made long ago. I literally do not want to leave anything behind. That's just me. To each his own. I'm glad I got people thinking. That's what I love about this forum. Could you guys imagine all of us having this conversation around a campfire. It would get hilarious. B-ROD is making my point better for me. I'm not as good with words. We are in a growing sport and its our responsibility to educate. (my wife and I passed 2 people on the river who were kayaking for the first time). I have spent a lot of yrs on the brazos and I call it my second home. I have 2 kids and they have been raised on the river and its awesome to see the importance it has to them to. We have spent many days picking up trash that others have left behind and over the years it seems to only get worse. Human waste is NOT a problem on the brazos but 30 yrs ago the brazos wasn't full of old used tires either. When my kids grow up and have their own families I want them to be aware of their environment. End of story. Where I squat is a very small part of that but its still a part so I might as well carry that out too. I'm not saying that burying it is wrong. Your you're own man, do whatever you want. But if the population keeps going up on our bodies of water and most people decide to just go bury it we are going to have a chitload of underground poo and I don't care what anyone says...that's a bad thing.

Dig a hole and go. Even cavemen did it. Once again, the problem with some rivers and you can't dig without trespassing. People have been finding used TP flung around vegetation and floating in the water on the devils. Needless to say, it's no bueno.

I work around wastwater plants a lot, and our poo is nasty. Ask any city downstream of austin and see what they say. Even treated it causes algae blooms.
I also swim in rivers like the san gabriel, and sometimes come across gar carcasses that bow hunters leave behind. Man, that smells good when swimming with your kids. Sure, they will naturally decompose, but the rotting smell in the water ruins it for everyone.

Hey Z. We take a spare trash bag to put it all in. On a two day trip chances are we only have a total of 4-5 poos.(this is hilarious.) by the time its in a trash bag its been triple bagged so the smell is minimal to none. Not gonna lie....your drop it in the first trashcan u see! Yes, my whole family uses the crate. They say you can reuse the wag bag a few times. Not this white boy. gotta draw the line somewhere. the bags don't cost that much money. I guess I need to take some pics of the powder and the whole system and post.(unused of course) Eltex, don't get me started on bowfishing. haha.

You can also make a contraption out of PVC to hold the used bags. Just cap both ends, with one end being removable and slide it in. That way there's no chance of it busting open.
