 help me find cheap yak for son..

I have a six year old son who now wants a yak. If u guys run into any deals, please help and post it. Doesn't have to b fancy, even a pelican would do. I will tow his wee butt when he gets tired. Thanks for any help guys.

Found another ocean kayak prowler for cheap. $300 but it has a small crack that was repaired w jb weld. The crack is on the back bottom of boat where the yak comes to a point. Would this yak be worth buying to repair properly and give to my kid?

A Prowler will be too big for a six year old, Puncher. An 8 or 10 foot sit on top would be better sizing for him, IMO. And JB Weld will not hold for long on a polyethylene kayak hull. If you'd like to take him out on Grapevine for a test paddle before you commit to buying him a toy he may not like, you are welcome to borrow my 10 footer...the one I sent a photo of.

Looking for a sot. That would work though. I want something he won't grow out of too. He is currently 51 inches tall and 6 years old, will be 7 August 1st. My kid loves kayaking, canoeing, stand up paddle boards, fishing and just being on the water. He will be beyond happy w his own yak. I'm looking daily on craigslist and if I don't find one on there, I'll just go buy a new one

Not sure if you thought about this idea...but you can always build your own. There are some great plans out there to build small to full sized yak type boats for all ages. Most are pretty simple and very inexpensive to build. It would be a great father son project and I bet both of you would learn a lot!

My father actually has a mold at his house for a sit in but I don't plan on making one

do a search for Dragonfly Moorea......its a small 8 foot kayak. I have one and I dig it.
