Both are very good reels I have 2 chronarchs and 1 citica and they both hold up very well in the saltwater conditions. I would go with the chronarch, but like I said they are both awesome reels.

The old school Abu 6500c3 is a classic and if properly maintained will last forever. For around the same money you may want to also check out the Diawa coastal. They are on sale at Cabela's for $79.99 right now.

Still a good deal for the right hand retrieve.

Yes, to me they cost more than they worth, IMO. The above suggestions sound good but I have found as good a reel as one can find in an older model Shimano like the Curado BSF (saltwater version), Chronarchs and the older vintage Abu's.

I've got alot of R$R's and being the old fashioned type guy I am, bought several vintage Ambassadeur 5500C's and 6000's, and others on eBay and put new Boca Bearing spool bearings in and replaced drags with carbon fiber drags. I love 'em. Good Luck. CF?
