I run a very basic Eagle finder. What is a step up with some sort of imaging. I am looking to stay under $500. I realize this is a can of worms with everybody having an opinion. Not ready to spend big money but want a better picture. I guess transducer will have to change with imaging, so brand is not as important as user friendly, and reliable. Thanks for the input.

Elite 7HDI will cost you a little more than you stated, but worth the extra. Great product at it price!

Yep, save up till you get the $700 and you'll be glad you did.
It has DI, 2D and GPS and for the money is the best deal out there.
