Looks like down imaging that is available in both Humminbird and Lowrance products already.

Ray marine has been doing this a long time and they dominate the saltwater industry. Looks like a great price for topnotch electronics

"since there are so many pulses going on, you can get a crystal-clear picture while traveling at faster speeds, say 15 or 20 mph whereas you need to be going 5 or slower with traditional units.

That's real good....

Ray Marine is definitely a proven performer and I like the fact it brings another horse into the race. Hopefully the competition will drive innovation and a cheaper price point for us freshwater guys.

I would be very interested in this unit, however the lack of Side imaging makes it somewhat of an issue.

I thought RayMarine, Simrad, and Lowrance were all in the same? 20mph, shew... I have hard enough time not running into stuff going 5mph and looking at the SI.

After reading the article, the author misrepresents the Dragonfly's capabilities. "But I think the best part about it is that you get a rugged unit with a screen thats almost 6 inches across with side-looking sonar for $649."
That is false--the unit does 2D sonar and DownView which is equivelent to Lowrance's Down Scan and Humminbird's Down Imaging. It does not have side-looking sonar, 2D or imaging.

The unit has been on the market since the first of May with mixed reviews.

I agree with you. Definitely misrepresented!
