Man, it was a hell of an experience. I can already anticipate what you're all thinking: "How many Aggies does it take to go BTB?" I broke a lot of golden rules this trip and almost paid the ultimate price. It was an experience that I will never forget. If any of you are thinking about doing BTB for your first time, you NEED to read this story. Learn from some of my mistakes the easy way. I can assure you, the feeling of flipping that boat a mile out to sea with nobody around is one that I never want to experience again. These will be some videos you DO NOT want to miss...

I went straight to the part where Robert almost dies. Anyone who goes into the ocean calm day or rough needs to be aware it could be their last day. There is absolutely no video footage cool enough to mistakenly end your life over, I know Bobby learned a lesson the hardest way and hope his story helps to prevent other novice kayakers or boaters from testing Mother Nature in a piece of plastic when it's absolutely not necessary to do so. I'm glad your back and safe YakNAggie, just wish you had chose to stay on shore when you saw the seas were so rough. I grew up fishing Sargent beach just about every week until I was 16. One calm day my dad and I ran the Bluewave 22' CC offshore for some fishing. As we were waiting for other boats to pass through Mitchell's cut a 4' wave grabbed our boat and slammed it nose first into the sand bar all of our gear was thrown out and boat nearly sunk. If it weren't for the center console we would have been thrown out too (this was on a calm day the seas were >1') The ocean can get you when you least expect it, so I guess it's best not to test her when the conditions are not favorable. Once again I'm glad your back and safe Bobby, looking forward to some epic video.

That probably goes without saying, but then again I guess it needed to be said. My hope is that at least one kayaker who is thinking about doing BTB reads the story and takes away some hard-learned lessons from it. If it prevents just one future accident from happening, it will have all been worth it. I feel blessed to be here right now. Thank you all for reading it and feel free to share it with any kayakers you know. Trust me, learning this the hard way was not pleasant. Worst moment of my entire life.
