I am planning on fishing lewisville for the first time on Tuesday. We will be launching from Little Elm.
Anthing bad about launching at Little Elm?
I always get a bit nervous the first time on a lake, not knowing where there are stumps or bars to be worried about. We want to try to find some hybrids so will be headed south. If I stay in the middle of the lake will I be OK?
Also, what direction and wind speed is a problem on Lewisville? I have a wide, deep V that handles waves fairly well, but I don't like to fight it if it is really bad.
Any suggestions appreciated.

Coming out if little elm stay to the left side. Timber in the center to north shore. South wind can be tough

After passing the bridge, beware of the two points on the east side. Very shallow.
Regarding Little Elm, I paid $65 for the non-resident season pass and couldn't launch on the 4th. Was told the ramp was closed due to parking, although car spaces were plentiful. Had to go pay again at Stewart Creek.

Good places to check out coming from Little Elm are Deadmans point, Hackberry point, White House & the old dam cut. Of course, keep an eye out for boats & birds.

Want to echo some of the comments above. Nothing bad about launching out of little elm. There's a nice beach and park. Plus, there's a courtesy dock where u can tie up uour boat! It can be a little tricky once you past little elm bridge. Watch for shallow waters on your left and trees in front of you. Go slow the first couple of times and you should be ok.
Oh, forgot getting to the launch isn't fun with all the road constructions. As for winds, I don't fish when it's greater than 15mph in any lake. Just not worth the trouble of being fished out by someone else it appearing on the evening news. Once you are out, catch them and share some of your wisdom.
