had a good morning saturday ! made it to the lake a little late bout 8:30. took my west texas cousin out and we nailed the crappie on 2 different piles. left at 11 with nice pile-0-filets. big ol' fish fry for dinner !
Dr.'s Creek ramp and cleaning station were BUSY so we didn't pose the slabs for photo ops.

Saw Tony Parker and his happy customers again.

Talked to a fellow crappie chaser @ Murray's over ribs brisket and tater salad. Didn't catch his name. He did not have the same luck earlier in the morn. Guess maybe the crappie slept in like I did. Better luck next time. cheers

ps.... anyone crappie fishin in the standing timber on cooper ?

Eightball,
Those piles are getting shallower by the day. Fished one yesterday we have fished several times recently only yesterday some of the brush was high enough to interfere with my trolling motor. Caught several crappie around that brush but still had to be careful.

Also hit a stump out in the lake off the Tira boat ramp while idling out to deeper water. It was on the right off the shoot going out to point across the way. Watched water level go from 10 ft to 2 ft on my sonar as I heard the hull hit the stump.

Catch 'em while you can cause they will shut down the ramps one day soon.

We found a couple new piles to us and caught 'em good. Brought home 10 that were 15+" all the other got a reprieve...

Caught a few cute 3" ones too.

Hybrids didn't want to play, Sandies didn't show so we did the next best thing.

Hope they load up on it before the ramps get closed....

Denny
