I was out on the Scat Cat week before last and a drifted 'dine either weightless or with a 2oz was a sure thing to get hooked up on some kings. Ling showed up at our last stop but I couldn't get them interested in my 300gr jig and that was all I had with me other than freelining a 'dine. Neither the deck hands or myself could get them to bite and they sank back into the blue in a couple of minutes.

Did the kings have any size to them?

Thanks Chunk for the report! I was beginning to think no one fished P.A. anymore! Those Ling will make you pull your hair out sometimes! Two more days and I'm there!!!

somewhere around 40" was the biggest I saw but I've seen recent reports of bigger ones being caught off Port A

The kings are in close! I got a really nice 48 inch fish last Tuesday while trying for a snapper. My father in law got four on the 4th and we got cut off more than a dozen times (only were fishing mono at the time). They ate ribbons like candy, but saw them caught on sardines and trolled cranks. Most I saw were less than 20 pounds.

Kings were in the ship channel last week and in the jetties.baits were frozen thawed ribbon fish ..35...40. Lb fish lots of 20's

Thanks for all the reports!!!!! My fever is reaching terminal! After the last month at work with all the stress im ready to float in the boat with my brother and sister-in-law and relax and listen for the drag to squeel!! Thanks again! I'll give a report when I get back.
