+1

Been there myself. I had even used sunscreen, and reapplied through out the day. But I found that the water dripping off the paddle while paddling had rinsed the sunscreen right off. I got the $25 zip-off fishing pants at Academy to solve this problem. I've recently upgraded the pants to a slightly more expensive version, with some supposedly increased performance features (better quality fabric, more water resistant/faster drying) but I'm on the fence of whether the additional cost was worth it. Time will tell. I hope you heal quickly.

How do you guys get so sun burn confused ? While fishing or golfing, all I have on are shorts, short sleeve shirt, baseball cap & sandals/golf shoes and the worst I'll get is a nice tan. I don't put on any sun screen (though I should) & I still don't get any sun burn.

I wear long pants and water shoes but I get the ankle tan almost every time I go out.

I think it has to do with the reflection coming off the water and the fact that there is no shade when your out on the lake. When your golfing your ball is probably resting under some trees half the time (joking) and you ride around in a cart with a roof on it giving you some protection from the sun. I used to golf a lot and like you stated I never got that burned.

Lesson learned the hard way.

My ancestry is Welch. I burn walking from the building in which I work to where my car is parked. It is all of 75 feet.

I rarely get sunburned on the feet, most of the time from about the first of April till the end of dove season, if I'm not I work, I'm in flip flips or sandels and keep a pretty permanent tan line on the feet.

Been goopin on lots of aloe vera and thinking it was worth the burn. Better then no burn and being stuck on the banks.

I might not catch them all, but I try to.

River yakking generally involves some anmount of yak dragging which means having to constantly re-apply sun screen to my legs. Now I just wear long dry pants.
