Just floating this idea but we seem to have a bunch of people chasing carp with fly rods now and August, lets face it isn't the best month for chasing and catching fish in Texas with a fly rod...its hot and horrible.
What I am proposing would be so easy to cheat on and win, but cheaters never prosper, right? So lets just assume no one on here would do that and if you enter you agree to not to call anyone a cheater. Its all for fun and bragging rights.
I would love to have a contest to see who could catch carp from the most body's of water. A small pond a huge lake a neighborhood creek 1 fish caught on a fly from each venue is one point.
If I went to ray bob and caught 15 fish they were all caught on ray bob I only get 1 point. The point system is designed to get you fishing multiple waters and to see who can catch the most carp on different waters in Texas.
Entry Fee, Random fly fishing tackle. Make it at least worth $20 retail several spools tipit that sold for $4.95, a used but good line an older reel that still works, clippers, a chest pack you thought would be cool, a hand full of your own tied flies, a bunch of tying material your willing to give up...a extra headlamp...anything that would amount to $20 retail gets you in.
fish must be caught in Texas. 1 point for every venue you catch a common carp from in August.
winner takes all of the random fly fishing loot that is collected.
as a mod and a TFF user for almost 10 years, all entry loot would be sent to me with a TFF username attached to it I would then store all the loot and send it out to the winner.

Sounds like a good time, LSC! The more yall talk about chasing carp on the fly, the more I think I need to try it.

Sounds like a fun time. Maybe I'll throw my old vest in as the booty, or the hundreds of spade-end hooks I accidentally bought because I didn't look close enough. Either way, better start tying up some damsels!

I don't have to enter a contest to lose gear! I just drive off with it on the top of my car. Follow me!
