I have a 2006 triton 21 tx with a bad control touch pad. Dealers saidTriton no longer has replacement which was $ 425.00, the option is a after market for $1250.00. Sounds like this is not a uncommon problem and knowing there are several triton owners out there, any ideas or options?

Try calling some of the bigger dealers around the country or post on the triton boats forum on bassboatcentral.. Someone may have one in stock. You could also look into changing the touch pad out for the rotary switch pad. May take a little while to do the conversion, but after that you'll only have to change a switch if something messes up.

1250.00 installed? May be your best option.

Check with Ryan at north Texas marine in Gainesville, he could have one in stock. Just a thought.

Mine acted up also, on livewell pumpout, took it to Ryan to check, he called me before I could get home said it working fine, turn around go back, we try, worked once second time nuttin'. Said $400 for new pad, special order if they put in no work no problem, but if I put in and no work, no exchange cause electical. 3 months later go to drain both wells and it works, don't know how much longer. Convert to swiches more than 3 times the pad cost. I just pull plugs in wells to drain.

Touch pads are junk. I have put three in my Basscat. The third one is working about halfazzed.

you can get a key unit that pig tails into if it doesn't work - the Rangers are the same way but the pig tail is a key ignition and only takes a minute to plug in
